PantangLarang Kaum India - Susu Ibu

Assalammualaikum...
Nie mokcik nak share 1 pantang larang kaum mengenai susu ibu.

Napo pulak tetibo jo mokcik buko citor nie...ha! Ni sobab eh:
" Dimulakan dengan al-kesahnya makcik baru mule keje setelah 2 bulan berpantang selepas melahirkan anak. Disebabkan makcik nie memang fully breast feed anak sejak anak pertama dulu, so makcik memang akan memerah and menyimpan stok for future.
Alhamdulilah makcik dikurniakan susu yang banyak, so daripada membazir membuang macam tu saje, makcik merajinkan diri untuk memerah susu terrmasuk semasa waktu rehat tengahari bila dah mule bekerja.

So, dipendekkan cerita. Hari ni, makcik ditegur dek tea lady kat ofis makcik. Aunty tu berketurunan India. Selepas selesai "misi" kat pantry, makcik sambung semula keje.

Lama2 habis."

Makcik terkejut gak aunty tu tegur makcik pasal tu..ingatkan apa ler tadi. Then, makcik cuma cakap yang next time, makcik bawa bekas bertutup lah."

Alhamdulillah ! Masa anak pertama, makcik berjaya fully breast feed sampai umur anak makcik 2 tahun setengah...tanpa menggunakan susu formula lansung. Alhamdulillah jugak jimat duit, tak payah beli susu formula.

Anyway, makcik respect lah kat aunty tu coz tegur makcik dengan cara yang berhemah sekali...hehehehe Itu hanyalah pantang larang kaum dia. Bagi makcik...takde apa-apa lah. Sekadar pantang larang jer. Mungkin tu cara dia orang... (^^,)

Sekian cerita hari ini...

Cuti berblog...September's Story

Assalammualaikum...rasenye lama sudah x merepek dlm blog..
Ditinggalkan begitu jerr tanpa khabar berita...kuang kuang kuang....

Dlm bulan September 2012 nie, macam2 perkara yg jadik.
Al-maklum lerr bulan Sept nie bulan menunggu hari...bak kata omputeh; "counting the days"... Hehehehe

TETAPI, dlm kes aku; dokter nasihatkan "JANGAN!" sebab mase first pregnancy dulu aku ceaser (operate), so dikhuatiri bile bayi dipusingkan...nanti terkoyak rahim & menyebabkan internal bleeding.
So, better not to take the risk...

Dalam minggu ke-37, bile scan for final decision...hmmm xde rezki lerr nk bersalin normal.
Bayi tetap breech...dokter kata mungkin sebab perut ibu kecik & bayi besar+panjang.
So, doktor decide bagi tarikh 'dibersalinkn'...hohohoho

Kes mcm nie, doktor takkan tunggu smpai kandungan genap 40minggu kerna takut risiko2 yg bakal dihadapi oleh ibu & bayi coz 1st pregnancy lahir secara ceaser.
So, kene 'dibersalin' kan lerr 2 minggu awal..tp dh cukup bulan lerr.

Tanggal 3hb September 2012, selamat lah aku 'dibersalinkn' secara ceaser...
Alhamdulillah anak yg lahir dengan selamat & sempurna kejadiannya.

Dapatlah kami seorang lagi putri yg beratnya 2.85kg & panjangnya 51cm yg diberi nama "SITI NUR ATIQAH"

Setelah 4 hari BerPuasa...

Assalammualaikum...

Meh nak share tips aku menghadapi bulan Ramadhan nie:
1) Amik supplement tambahan macam asid folic, vitamin etc..mengikut dos yang dibenarkan lah ek...jangan over-dose sudah lah ek.
Macam aku; aku amik product USANA = Essential Set (AO Pro & Chelated Mineral) + Biomega + Active Calcium. (korang boley bace kat sini: USANA)
Alhamdulillah setakat beberapa tahun digunakan sejak menyusukan anak (tahun 2008 - 2011), badan segar + sehat jer.

2) Banyakkan minum air suam.

Assalammualaikum...
Agak berkurun gak lah aku x update blog aku nie...dah beberapa kali gak lah bersawang ditinggalkan ibarat di-anak-tiri-kan...kuang kuang kuang...

Sebenarnya bukan ape..bukan xnak update. Tapi disebabkan masalah kepeningan & kemualan yang melampau yang menghalang aku mengadap laptop nie. FB ponnn dah jarang update gak...nak main game macam selalu pon....jauuuuuh sekali.

Alhamdulillah sekarang usia kandungan dah mencecah 18 Minggu = 4 bulan lebih lah.

Aritu g scan, doktor kata dh size dlm 8 inci...then size perut ok+normal. Weight aku pon ok...xde lah overweight.

Cume...

Aku kene minor anemia...HB 10.5...Hohohoo
Takut effect kat perkembangan baby jer...so kene berusaha naikkan lah HB yg low nie.

1) Hati ayam
2) Kerang
3) Sayur Bayam
4) Sayur Kailan
5) Air limau nipis + kismis

Nak masak cara ape? up to korang lah ek..ikut selera memasing.

Then tips berguna dari doktor:
"Elakkan pengambilan susu & jus oren selepas makan sebab akan mengganggu penyerapan zat besi oleh badan. Seelok-eloknya 2 jam selepas makan."

Plus plak dgn tarikh due date dlm scan Vs due date normal calculation from 01st menstrual ade variance 2 weeks.
So, next check-up kene scan semula.

Semalam bile nampak image baby waktu doktor scan, alahai! leganya hati tgk denyutan jantung baby & perkembangan die.

Ade tapinye lagi...disebabkan my mom ade diabetes & 01st pregnancy I kene diabetes...so I pon kene lah inspect for diabetes for this 02nd pregnancy.
Huhuhuhu next appointment kene amik darah + minum air gula + amik darah smula...OMG!

Xpe lah..demi kesejahteraan & keselamatan kandungan...ku redah jua ape pon dugaan...insya'Allah! (^^,)

So wish me all the best...dah jarak 4 tahun dari 01st pregnancy nie..dug dag dug dag jugak.

New mommy "again":

Here is the song for today:
Wahai wanita

Wanita yang berada di seluruh dunia
Tak kira bangsa

Oh asalkan kau wanita
Kau buat ku gila
Bila kau menggoda
Bila kau mengada-ngada
Oh lirikan mata senyuman manisnya
Oh kau buat aku tergoda

Chorus

Oh wanita seluruh dunia ku ingin kau tahu
Yang aku cinta kamu semua
Wahai permaisuriku
Dan walaupun ku tak mampu membahagikan diriku
Kepada wanita seluruh dunia
Lagu ini lagu cinta untuk kamu semua
Untuk kamu semua

Wahai wanita
Adakah kau mengerti apa yang aku kata
Kamu semua adalah inspirasiku bila ku berkarya
Ku tuliskan lagu hanyalah untukmu
Untuk buat hari kau ceria
Dan aku tak kisah mana kau berada
Ku ingin kau dengar ku berkata

Ulang Chorus

Tak kira bangsa
Umur atau rupa
Oh asalkan kau wanita

Ulang Chorus

Herbs Mentioned in the Literature as of Concern

(Source: http://www.itmonline.org/arts/breast.htm)

Various herbal resources taken together suggest avoiding the following herbs during lactation; most often, the original source of the information is obscure and there is little or no data to support the concern.
Indeed, other sources, similarly obscure, claim that some of the same herbs are known to be safe to use during breastfeeding or are not known to be associated with any adverse effects.
Most of these are "Western herbs," but a few appear in Chinese medicine, including aloe, coltsfoot (tussilago), ephedra, garlic, licorice, and rhubarb.
Some herbs are suggested to be avoided because they "dry up milk:" sage and parsley are examples.
Garlic can flavor the milk and cause some infants to consume less than they normally would.
In most cases, the concern is related to using large doses regularly rather than avoiding any exposure.
Aloe vera
Black snakeroot
Bladderwrack
Borage
Buckthorn

Bugleweed
Cascara sagrada
Coltsfoot
Comfrey
Elecampane
Ephedra
Fennel
Fenugreek
Garlic
Kava kava
Licorice
Male Fern
Gravel root
Parsley
Rauwolfia
Rhubarb (root)
Sage
Senna
Stillingia
Wormwood

Herb remedies for increasing milk supply for breastfeeding moms? - Episode 2 -

I may not be the expert about herbs…

But I have make some analysis on the herbs which widely used by breastfeeding moms.

Therefore I would like to share on below articles wit all of you-moms outside there:

Fenugreek a.k.a “Halba” (in Malay)
Good: it is good for increasing the milk supply. You can take it as a tea or put a little bit in your cooks…

Bad: Who had diabetes or blood clotting disorder…it can cause hypoglycemia (a lower than normal level of blood glucose). It also contains coumarin (is moderately toxic to the liver and kidneys) and nicotine. Both can negatively affect the heart rate and blood pressure in mom as well as our baby. Taking too large amount will make your urine smells like maple syrup & not only yours…but also to the baby. Therefore, your baby may be misdiagnosed having a “maple-syrup urine disorder” (The disease is characterized in an infant by the presence of sweet-smelling urine, with an odor similar to that of maple-syrup. Infants with this disease seem healthy at birth but if left untreated suffer severe brain damage and eventually die.)

My - Sharing:
Do not take this herb without consulting with your medical practitioner/doctor. They know the best than you are…Do not take with other drugs or medicine…
Even for me, I can’t use it as I experienced a diabetes while pregnancy. Even though now it’s ok. No more diagnosed with diabetes…But prevention is better than cure…
So I’ll try to take another alternative…

Fennel Seeds a.k.a Jintan Manis (in Malay)
Good: This herb can help milk production. It can be use for improving the milk supply of breastfeeding moms. This use, although not supported by direct evidence, is sometimes justified by the fact that fennel is a source of phytoestrogens, which promote growth of breast tissue. However, normal lactation does not involve growth of breast tissue.

Bad: There is a single case report of fennel tea ingested by a breastfeeding mother resulting in neurotoxicity for the newborn child.

My - Sharing:

I like to drink tea, but I don’t think I can drink this…hahaha
Try again to search for another alternative…

Chamomile a.k.a Bunga Kamil (In Malay)

Good: This herb contains relaxing properties and helps stimulate the production of breast milk.It is a popular treatment for numerous ailments, including sleep disorders, anxiety, digestion/intestinal conditions, skin infections/inflammation (including eczema), wound healing, infantile colic, teething pains, and diaper rash.
Normally this herb is consumed as a tea.

Bad: Chamomile may act as a uterine stimulant or lead to abortion. It therefore should be avoided during pregnancy. There is not enough scientific data to recommend the safe use of chamomile while breastfeeding. Chamomile may increase the amount of drowsiness caused by some herbs or supplements. Caution is advised while driving or operating machinery. Chamomile may have anti-estrogenic effects and interact with herbs and supplements like red clover or soy.Based on preliminary study, constituents in chamomile may alter blood sugar or blood pressure. Patients taking herbs or supplements that affect blood sugar or blood pressure should be cautious.

My - Sharing:
I can drink this…but may have to think twice…thrice…either to take it or not…my biggest worry is the effect to my baby.

Blessed Thistle (From South east England)
Good: Considered to be one of the best herbs to increase breast milk production.

Bad: Some tincture preparations have labels that state nursing mothers should avoid consuming the product mainly because it contains alcohol.

My - Sharing:
Nope for me…as it contains alcohol even though in small amount…it still goes to my baby…
If you are breastfeeding…what you eat, your baby also eats the same…

Other herbs that can be considered but there is still no scientific proven that these herbs can improve breast milk production as well as the bad effects either to mom or baby:

Goat's Rue.
Also a well-known diuretic and increases breast milk production.
Other effects include use as a tonic, liver-protectant, and as a platelet aggregation inhibitor.

Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus)
Is traditionally used by women for overall health and vitality and it promotes lactation.

Aniseed
Aids digestion and promotes mother's milk production for nursing mothers.
It is like fennel which contains anethole, a phyoestrogen.
Anise is a mild anti-parasitic and its leaves can be used to treat digestive problems, relieve toothache, and its essential oil to treat lice & scabies.
Anise can be used to relieve menstrual cramps.

Caraway (Adik-beradik Jintan Manis)
This herb has galacagogue properties.
Used to aid mother's milk production and aid digestion disorders.

Herb remedies for increasing milk supply for breastfeeding moms? - Episode 1 -

A healthy & wonderful baby to be is a dream of every mother in a world called Planet Earth…

As a mom, I like to breastfeed my baby even though I am a working mom…
Working from 08:30am – 06:00pm everyday caused tiredness, created tension & also can spread the phantom of stress in your soul.

Aha! Better watch this out…
These may affect the production of my milk…as our body & mind togetherness strike not to produce more milk as it needs to repairs other parts of the body…

But not everything will be accordingly to a plan… we plan… we try to gain it…search for alternative…but all depends on Allah s.w.t…Tawakkal…

Talk about herb remedies as an idea of increasing milk supply for breastfeeding moms.

Even me myself thinking of using herbs as traditional ways to increase the supply of my milk production…so low these days…only enough for breastfeed but not enough for storage…I want to continue breastfeed until my daughter reach 2 years old…

It come out in my mind when I “heard” a story from a dealer or justification from the user of the products…we may believe it & tremendously wanted to try it…

But…do you make any further analysis or dig on the info of the side-effect of the herbs?
